 In mid-January, the large Quelle catalogue show took place in the Hamburg fish market at the harbour. In front of about 100 journalists, Quelle had organised its own small exhibition, with all categories having their own booth and presenting themselves extensively. The categories fashion, “Küchen Quelle”, technical equipment and home furnishings aside, the Institut für Warenprüfung (goods inspection institute; IfW), service & sales (multi-channel), e-commerce, “Foto Quelle” and the major proprietary brands also had their own booths.

 Foto Quelle is world record holder and with 94,292 pictures in the Nuremberg Quelle shopping centre made the world’s largest photo mosaic. This will now also be featured in the Guinness Book of World Records.

 September 2006: Quelle GmbH has a new advertising and brand campaign. As of September 20, 2006, a TV commercial shows the Quelle target group – the price-conscious female customer with an appreciation of family life – in various spheres of life. In popular magazines, the campaign is presented in supplements and ad sequences.

 April 2006: the starting gun for a new special mail-order company within QuelleNeckermann Spezialversand GmbH was fired: Mirabeau, special mail-order company for Mediterranean home and garden furniture, presented its first catalogue.

 March 24, 2006: The new logo on the Quelle tower – at the Quelle Shopping Centre in Nuremberg – was revealed. From now on, the tower bears the Q-key, the patent on which has been applied for and which has already got many awards. The message is that Quelle is unique, modern and present.

January 01: Quelle AG changed its legal form to Gesellschaft mit beschränkter Haftung (GmbH), i.e. from a public to a private limited company.

 December 2005: Quelle activities have been intensified in Greece, too. A mail order service company is being founded in Athens, which from now on is going to manage Quelle’s Greek mail-order business. The status has thus been changed from a Greek agency to a foreign subsidiary, the total number of which is now 20.

 August 2005: Quelle launched its own foreign subsidiary in Serbia, based in her capital Belgrade. The first 250-page catalogue autumn/winter 2005/2006 was published at the beginning of September in Serbian language and currency.

 Since the beginning of May, Quelle is also present in Romania. In the Central Eastern European country, Quelle is the very first mail-order company offering its products. This Quelle foreign subsidiary is based in the town of Satu Mare (112,500 inhabitants) in northwest Romania. The first main catalogue in Romanian was published at the beginning of August 2005. With a print run of 100,000 copies, this catalogues presents our customers the whole variety of Quelle products on 250 pages.

 "One of the best Big Ideas in commerce "- was the jury’s conclusion about the q-key at www.quelle.de when awarding the "Deutscher Dialog-Marketing Preis 2005". Quelle’s Internet Shop received Gold in the media and Silver in the trade category (instead of Gold here it was Silver twice).

Quelle Neckermann Spezialversand GmbH and the company Christ Juweliere und Uhrmacher seit 1863 GmbH in March 2005 founded the "Christ Homeshopping GmbH & Co.KG", a company half-owned by each parent company. On 110 pages, the catalogue conveys the brand Christ’s emotions and philosophy and combines them with the advantages of mail-order trade. Also included in this cooperation is Quelle’s subsidiary servicelogiQ. The fulfilment specialist is responsible for all services related to the processing of transactions like customer service, payables and receivables management and all logistics and returns management.

As of January 01, 2005, the travel agency multiple Reise Quelle has been integrated into Neckermann Urlaubswelt, which now has 150 travel agencies nationwide. For Quelle Technik-Center, Reise Quelle Direkt and reisequelle.de, however, the brand “Reise Quelle” will remain operative. Here, the use of synergic effects with Quelle mail order customers is supposed to be continued.

As of January 01, Fox.Markt-Handelsgesellschaft, based in Fürth, has been in operation. The company employs a staff of approx. 1,200 and combines the former ,Fox-Märkte’ run by Neckermann and ,Quelle-Fundgruben’ under a joint brand. |
